New Jaguar F-Type 2013

The new Jaguar 2013 F-Type is almost here:

The new Jaguar 2013 F-Type is a new convertible sports car, exclusively available as a convertible with a hard-top coupe model set to arrive in the near future this is the most exciting Jaguar since the E-Type.  And it’s hard not to draw comparisons with the iconic E-Type Jaguar, the looks are reminiscent of the legendary sports car but will the performance match up as well.

f-type jaguar
Eagle eyes

The Jaguar F-Type has the looks to rival most convertible sports cars and will definitely turn heads. Enthusiasts may be disappointed a hard-top coupe version won’t be available until possibly another year. The modern body and eagle eyed head lights give the Jaguar a distinctive look but comparisons will always be drawn to the ever popular E-Type.

The performance is meant to rival the Porsche Boxster with two engine sizes available. The options of a 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol unit and a 5.0-litre V8 both are stating an impressive 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds. Acceleration and weight distribution have been focused on which allows for better performance and also better fuel economy with the V6 model giving a return of 30mpg. However this is driving economically though and with a V6 or V8 under the bonnet it would be hard to keep disciplined.

Extras can be added to the convertible with the possibility of the price soaring to £92,000. When launched both standard and ‘S’ specification will be available. Jaguar’s standard multimedia system will be available with leather sports seats and a luxury interior that is the very least expected with a Jaguar model.

A quote from Jaguars Vehicle Line Director, Ian Hoban stated: “The engineering development of the F-TYPE has focused on delivering a heightened level of dynamic driving reward. We are excited about our progress to date and are looking forward to soon being able to demonstrate what we have achieved.” Hopefully the car lives up to his word when the

Jaguar F-Type becomes available in spring 2013 at selected Jaguar dealerships .

Life in the Fast Lane with the Aston Martin V12 Vantage

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster is definitely a car made for the fast lane. This powerhouse of a speedster packs all the bells and whistles in its engine bay. As good as it looks under the hood, this Aston wows avid car lovers with its unique bodywork. Adding exclusivity to this 2013 introduction is the fact that this model is limited to a production run of 101 units. Rocking the road with this Vantage will surely give a blast of a ride.

vantage
Awe.

Let’s take a look at what makes this Vantage better than the best inside and out:

Engine – it has the same 5.9-liter V12 that is found under the hood of the earlier Vantage coupe model. This packs power of 510-hp and a torque of 420-lb/ft. at about 5750 rpm. To accommodate the larger engine, the manufacturers added some tweaks to the front of this speedster. Bigger vents were added to the hood for proper ventilation and to keep underhood temperatures low. Firmer front springs were also necessary to support the added weight of the V12.

Speed – the Vantage Roadster has a six-speed-manual transaxle that is similar to its coupe predecessor. It revs up from 0 to 60 in a scant 4.2 seconds. Its top speed was logged at 190mph, with the V12 shouting out as its exhaust bypass valves stay open during Sport driving mode. Triggering this mode by simply pressing a button on the dashboard, the Vantage Roadster responds with sharper throttle reaction and increased torque even with revs on the low side of the dial. Its front and rear carbon-ceramic brakes are also responsive enough to control speeds.

Body – the manufacturers tore off the roof on the Vantage Roadster. This 2-seater droptop is as sleek and wonderfully styled as can be. It is fitted with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires and is decked with carbon-fiber trimmings both on the interior and exterior. A special addition to this model is an exclusive numbered plaque mounted on the doorsills that indicates the unit’s place in the 101 production run.

Top 5 Modifications to Make to Your Sports Car

Driving down the road in a classy and sporty car has always been a dream of yours, and now you have the vehicle to make this fantasy come to life. Instead of keeping the car as is though, check out these cool ways you can modify your vehicle.

A Paint Job

The colour of your car says so much, especially when you want to exude those feelings of sportiness. Instead of opting for a more tame shade such as white or beige, go for something bold. Red, black and many of the more daring blues are the perfect colours for your sports car. Once the paint job is done, you will feel as though you’re actually driving a brand new car for the first time.

Replacing the Tyres

Tyres need not look dull and boring, and some styles are available to make your car look even better. Of course, when it comes to tyres, you must go with form and fit above all else. Once the proper tyre for you has been determined, look into the different possible models. With various sized and designed spokes, you’ll likely find something that you love.

Turning the Engine

When you make the decision to replace some of the components in the engine, you could wind up with a faster vehicle or one that runs more efficiently. If the car is going to become faster, do not let this be an open door to racing. Obeying the speed limits and maintaining optimal safety are both crucial. Take your car to a local shop to see what types of modifications are available. Furthermore, you need to ensure that everything you choose blends together in the utmost manner.

Spoilers and Grilles

A lot of people decide to have a spoiler put on to the back of their car. Even if the car is not extremely sporty before hand, just adding on this component can make it seem more free and fun. Be sure to pick a paint colour that exactly matches the one of your vehicle, or else the job will look simply sloppy. Grilles are another way to change your car to look a it more casual and carefree. Find out what all of the different options are to have one customized to meet your needs and your car.

Less Permanent Chances

Some people want to try the sporty look but are not sure they want to commit. Therefore, consider adding some decals to the back of the vehicle or little items on the exterior of the car. This allows you to see if the sporty vibe is right before you before you make any permanent and expensive changes to the vehicle.

When it comes to make your car look even more sporty than it already does, always remember to keep safety and function in mind. If the car does not have these two component, then it’s not good to drive.

Aston Martin Vanquish: Vanquished No More

It’s not the first time that an Aston Martin Vanquish hit the road. This model has been around since 2001. After its launch, however, things did not look good under the hood. Lest it ruin the reputation of the prestigious car brand, the Vanquish was pulled out of the production line in 2007. Nothing has quite matched up to the glamour that the Vanquish showed on its exterior. Now, a new Vanquish is rolling out of the Aston Martin factory at Gaydon.

vanquish aston martin
what’s not to love?

The styling essentially remains the same with the distinctively British flair. While it is reminiscent of the 2001 Vanquish, this 2012 model is leaner and sleeker much like the limited-run One-77 Supercar. The carbon fiber construction of the new Vanquish reduced this car’s mass and increased its strength to weight ratio. Another added feature is the rear spoiler referred to as the Aero Duct, similarly made of carbon fiber material.

Although the interiors remain luxurious, there does not seem to be anything extraordinary. Those who took this car for a test drive found it to be so-so in the infotainment department. The control panel still had the starter modules and the gear selection buttons. More controls can be found on the steering wheel to include suspension and cruise control buttons. The Aston Martin engineers claim that the new units in their factories are getting some fine tuning in this department.

This front-engine 2-door coupe has a 48-valve V12 engine with port fuel injection mechanism. It has a 6-speed automatic transmission with a manual shifting mode. It reaches peak power of 565hp at 6,750rpm and a top speed of 183mph. This car is fuel efficient at 13mpg on city driving. The new Vanquish feels fast yet firm on the road. This sporty grand tourer is out in the market for a retail price of close to $300,000.

Metal Components that are used Together with Metal Fasteners

Some people think that metal fasteners can stand on their own and do not need other metal components to join items together. However, it should be remembered that while the said parts are useful in many ways, they need to be used with other accessories to make sure that they will deliver the right level of tension that is necessary.

The abovementioned feature is important because metal fasteners are used in the automotive, manufacturing, and aerospace fields, among others. To make sure that the purposes of the said metal components are achieved, they are used with other metal parts and some of them are explained on succeeding paragraphs.

Metal Washers

Metal washers are flat dishes that come with small holes at the centre. They are specifically used to hold loads of mechanical bolts and are usually placed just beneath the nut or the joint to avoid potential discharge and at the same time properly distribute pressure.

Because there are different requirements that need to be met, custom washers are used together with metal fasteners to make sure that every precautionary is taken to eliminate or reduce the possibility of encountering negative impacts or circumstances that may compromise daily operations.

Metal custom washers

Metal Nuts

Metal nuts are known for their high quality features like durability, strength, and anti-corrosion. They are generally used to secure screws and/or bolts on certain locations. Some nuts that are out on the market are classified according to their use, design, and shape. Sub categories include plate nuts, lug nuts, and self-locking nuts.

Metal Bolts

In general, metal bolts are classified as mechanical fasteners that come with threaded rods or pins. It is easy to identify them because they usually come with a head on one end. Bolts can be easily purchased and come in different sizes. The most common metal bolts are U-bolts, hub bolts, mounting plate bolts, and wheel bolts.

Conclusion

Aside from the three main metal parts that are explained above, there are also other components that can be used together with metal fasteners. They are used in a wide array of industries to affix different objects and reduce the possibility of encountering negative circumstances that may compromise quality, safety, and other operational factors.

Because of their importance, the said components (especially custom washers) undergo strict scrutiny before they are released on the market. This is essential because as mentioned above, they are widely used in a wide array of industries.

2013 Already Looking Like a Great Year for Honda Cars

United Kingdom Honda dealers are taking record orders for Honda cars in 2013

With a reputation for reliability, a record of dependability, and being low cost maintenance, a Honda car is one of the highest on-demand vehicles in today’s market. United Kingdom Honda dealers are enjoying this trend and are now taking orders for specific vehicles. Although stocking as many choices as possible in their inventory, the Honda dealers in the UK sometimes encounter situations that they just do not have the right car for a particular customer. This is why they accept orders for a personalized vehicle. A specific colour, a certain fabric, or combinations of options make ordering a Honda car a choice for many people. Especially when there is no urgency on the customer to acquire a new vehicle.

honda

One exciting fact about a Honda car is the fuel consumption. With a reputation for manufacturing automobiles that are fuel friendly, Honda cars are sought for this reason alone. Consumers throughout the UK are concerned more and more about the rising cost of fuel as a percentage of their monthly budget. Another reason that a Honda car can minimize the costs of owning a car is the low maintenance of Honda cars. Honda dealers are seeing a rise in the amount of Honda cars that are brought back to the dealer for routine maintenance. The customer is aware that performing the proper service to their Honda car will guarantee a greater experience of ownership. Getting this service done by their local UK Honda dealer will assure that the proper maintenance is done, and if any repairs are necessary due to normal wear and tear, the Honda dealer will foresee the problem before it becomes a costly problem. The consumer has also realized that these repairs are also dramatically lower for a Honda car than for the nearest competitor.

A customer that is considering purchasing a Honda car soon and cannot find the right vehicle at their local Honda dealer may consider placing an order for their personalized vehicle. The Honda dealers of the United Kingdom will happily sit with them to discuss their choices. Of course, the right Honda car may be just sitting in the inventory of a UK Honda dealer.

Stay Safe When Driving in the Snow this Winter

Stay Safe on the Snowy Roads in Scotland this Winter

Understanding the road conditions during winter months can make the difference between staying safe and crashing during dangerous winter driving conditions, such as snow and ice. Taking the time to prepare before setting off on a journey ensures those driving new and used cars in Scotland do not get into trouble and complete their journey’s as planned.

When snow and ice arrive or are expected spending a little extra time preparing for a journey is very important; one important consideration is the choice of roads to be taken with larger roads more likely to be safer after being gritted when snow and ice are expected. Staying off smaller roads and side streets can ensure a driver does not lose control or become stranded. If a driver does become stranded the engine of a vehicle should only be run for long enough to keep the occupants warm and should not be run in an enclosed space.

stay safe snowy roads car
snow-covered

When choosing from cars for sale in Glasgow potential buyers of used cars can be sure that a well cared for vehicle should operate well in adverse conditions like those faced in winter. Simple steps like making sure a driver knows that starting a journey in snowy conditions requires the use of a high gear in a manual used car can avoid becoming stuck or losing control at the outset of a journey. Making sure a driver maintains a safe distance away from the vehicle in front, up to double or triple the usual stopping distance makes sure each vehicle can stop in the appropriate time and avoid a collision.

Before beginning a journey the vehicle to be, whether new or used should be cleared of snow and ice to make sure visibility is at its maximum. Standing snow on the roof of a vehicle can also cause problems with visibility for drivers and should be cleared before any journey is embarked upon.
